Forsberg’s 100th Attempt at A Comeback

forsberg_48041.jpg

According to the Canadian Press, Forsberg skated with his hometown team in Sweden today.

Unofficially then, this is the 100th time we’ve heard about Foppa trying to come back.

What a gong show, I am sick of hearing about him and this. This is getting out of hand, Cujo, Niedermayer, Selanne, and Foppa are all going to play half of a season (assuming Selanne and Forsberg do in fact come back).

The deadline of signing free agents needs to be moved up. As it stands, I believe the deadline is sometime in February. It should be moved up into early December at some point. I don’t know if I am alone in this or not, but I just don’t think it should be allowed for players to play for half a season, and really only play the play-offs.

It is unfair to the rest of the team. The young guys, and depth players carry a team into positioning for the playoffs, and then an old-fart that can’t handle an 82 game grind, shows up for 20 games and gets his name carved into Stanley’s Mug? Makes me wonder why the depth players bother to show up, bother to train all summer, bother to come to Training Camp, bother to practice everyday, bother to put their families aside for 10-11 months of the year. Only to be cast aside when the post-season commences? Pretty effin’ rude if you ask me, pretty effin’ rude.
